cheese fondue - kid friendly


INGREDIENTS

two tablespoons cornflour
1 cup milk
quarter clove of garlic 
two blocks of 250g cheese - edam and cheddar
a few drops white truffle oil

two sticks of french bread
green / red apple
pear
cauliflower - blanched quickly to ensure they are still firm


(no wine in this recipe!)


METHOD

pour the milk into the fondue pot and over the stove on very low heat

mix in two tablespooons of cornflour with water and into the milk
 
stir continously to avoid milk burning

finely grate or crush a quarter clove of garlic and add to the milk

slowly grate and add the two types of cheese (I used microplane)

mixture must be warm enough so that cheese melts but doesnt burn

keep stirring and allow cheese to melt bit by bit before adding more

add a few drops of white truffle oil at the end - use sparingly

once ready - transfer over to fondue stand

i used 4 tealight candles to keep the fondue going
