Beef shank

Season the shanks with salt and marinade for a couple of hours

Brown beef  shank in cast iron pot
Make sure pot is preheated first

Once browned all over remove the beef shank

Add onions, carrots  and garlic to brown further


Then add a glass of wine to deglaze the pot

Bring to a boil and reduce

Then add beef or other stock and bring to the boil

Add the shanks back into the pot and put into a preheated oven at 180 c for 4 hours
