Oat Bars




INGREDIENTS


  • 60g butter
  • 100g honey (may be a little too sweet..)
  • 100g dried fruit - raisins and apricots
  • 1 cap vanilla essence
  • 100g oats
  • two scoops BG22 oat bran
  • lemon zest


METHOD

i used saucepan to measure weight of honey, to avoid mess & waste

melt butter and honey in saucepan

add oats and stir in

add dried fruit and vanilla essence and stir in

add one scoop of oat bran and stir in

give it some time to thicken before adding next scoop ( in case it becomes too thick)

add second scoop of oat bran

add zest from lemon

preheat oven to 160 C

oil a small bread tin with butter

put in oat mixture and spread.  do not compact it down too much

into the oven for 18 mins - turns out soft
