Oven baked BBQ ribs
Ingredients
about 900g ribs
Recipe for rub:
One teaspoonful each of: paprika, granulated garlic, dried onion, salt, sugar
(may need one tablespoon of sugar? cant recall)
blend into a fine powder
Method:
remove membrane from area under the ribs in order to aid absorption of seasoning and to avoid having a hard skin after cooking
give the ribs a quick rinse and drain off excess liquid
coat the ribs in olive oil
sprinkle the rub all over liberally (the rub already has salt so no need to salt separately)
Insert wireless thermometer into a fleshy part of the rib
Bake at around 120 to 140 C for 2 to 2.5 hours depending on internal temp
Baked ribs till internal temperature of 185 F. they will be tender but not at fall off the bone stage. test doneness by inserting a skewer and the skewer should go through easily without much resistance
Note that baby back ribs are a bit more lean and will cook a bit faster than spare ribs
